For example, a $75,000 salary works out to $36.06 per hour ($75,000 divided by 2,080). This calculator uses the same formula but lets you adjust the hours per week and account for PTO so you get a more accurate number.
Your true hourly rate is your annual salary divided by the hours you actually work, not the hours you are paid for. Because PTO and paid holidays are paid time off (you get paid without working), each hour you actually show up is worth more. For example, a $75,000 salary with a 40-hour week and 20 paid days off per year works out to $36.06 standard hourly but about $37.88 true hourly, because you only actually work 1,980 hours.
